Are your child’s reading and/or spelling skills below grade level? This fun Orton-Gillingham based program uses all of the senses (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic and Tactile) to improve a child’s overall reading/spelling abilities. A 1 hour session may include: sight word practice, word games, sound review using rice trays, and a reading/spelling game.

Does your child struggle with the basic facts? Within this program, the student is taught the foundation of all mathematics. The student learns strategies to not only memorize facts, but to UNDERSTAND numbers and number concepts.

Full Academic Assessment Including Dyslexia Testing
A full assessment will be conducted at a student’s initial session. The Dyslexia Determination Test is utilized to identify if a dyslexic pattern is present, and whether a student presents stronger visual or auditory skills. Other tests are conducted to pinpoint a child’s strengths and weaknesses in order for an appropriate program plan to be recommended.

Training for Teachers
Teachers can learn how to test for a dyslexic pattern using the Dyslexia Determination Test, and how to program using the results. Other workshops of interest to teachers involve spelling rules, math strategies and early literacy.
